The Oskaloosa star could be the best-ever to play basketball in Iowa.
If Oskaloosa power forward Xavier Foster wasn't a national-level recruit before, he is now.
The five-star 2020 prospect will take an unofficial visit to USC next weekend during his trip to California for the Pangos All-American Camp (June 1-3), Foster's AAU program director, BG Regins, told the Register.
Foster's most recent unofficial visit was to Baylor in April. The result? His second Big 12 offer. If that result was any indication, Foster, who plays his AAU ball for Pure Prep Academy, could come away with his first Pac-12 offer next weekend.
A 6-foot-11 big with a silky smooth 3-point shot and improving handles, Foster currently holds offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Creighton, Illinois, Missouri, Texas A&M and Baylor, plus interest from USC, Kansas, Cal, Xavier, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Virginia. Oklahoma State and Florida State have also shown recent interest, especially the Seminoles, Regins said.
He is a major target for both the Hawkeyes and Cyclones.
The Register caught up with Foster during the Iowa Gym Rats Kings of the Court tournament last weekend. Other than the in-state schools, he said Baylor was showing the most love right now. He also said he's working primarily on improving his ball-handling and strength this offseason.
Rivals gives Foster five stars and ranks him the No. 20 prospect in the 2020 class. The 247Sports Composite gives him four stars and ranks him No. 34 in the class. He is the Register's No. 1 in-state 2020 prospect.
